Ans: I think because he was very quick and very good at being on his foot in baseball. He seemed like he was very fast too.

Mr Sir tells Stanley that there are no barriers to stop him from escaping but the camp has the only water for one hundred miles so if he ran away he would die quickly without water. Stanley is shown to a group of grey tents with letters on them, he will sleep in the one with D on it. Mr Pendanski will be his counselor he should remember his name as Pen dance ski, he is nice to Stanley and tells him he respects him and will help him change his life if he helps him too. Mr Pendanski tells him the rule of camp is not to upset the warden. Rex and Alan are two kids that come over. All the kids have nicknames Alan is squid Rex is xray the cot that Stanley would be sleeping belonged to a kid called Barfbag who is in Hospital. Stanley met some other children called they called Mr Pendanski mom. Mr Pendanski told all the boys to take care of Stanley because they were all new once. Some boys get cross if you call them by there nickname the boys are only allowed a 4 minute shower. The bed is scratchy smelly and the food is horrible. The boys asked Stanley why he was there and Stanley said he robbed a pair of sneakers from the famous baseball player Clyed sweetfeet livengston he was giving them a to a charity to raise money for homeless and Stanley didn’t take them.
